Cultivating Kin is a project inspired by Primary Colours/Couleurs primaires with a vision to decolonize the Canadian art system by placing Indigenous arts at the centre of the system, led by Indigenous artists, in solidarity with artists of colour.
Cultivating Kin has intentionally chosen to document its process and journey through a set of conversations. Longer and shorter versions of the conversations are available and under the themes of Decolonizing Funding, Trust and Relationships, Generative Discomfort, Local Colour Protest at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and Decolonizing and Returning Ancestral Practices.
These conversations are part of the multi-year Cultivating Kin project and are available at rungh.org
